After a long, tiresome labor lasting over 30 hours, I finally got to meet my beautiful baby girl! On June 4th at 5:55 in the morning, Audrey Elizabeth English was born weighing 7 pounds and 14 ounces, and 20 inches long. Walking into the hospital Saturday evening I didn’t think I’d be leaving the following Tuesday morning with my baby girl. I was in such denial that I was in labor, and her head being posterior caused contractions to be irregular. We decided it was time to go to the hospital when contractions began coming about every two minutes. When I arrived at the hospital, I was only dilated to 2 cm, and remained in labor for many hours. I had only dilated to 2 due to the positioning of her head. Fortunately her head turned, and I dilated to 4 cm within an hour. It was a long process, but looking back it seems unreal. I’m so happy to have my baby here, and it’s hard to believe that I can finally hold her in my arms. I love her more than you can imagine! She’s my little mini-me, and i’m so glad to finally have her. I’m so thankful for my family’s support, and my mom helped me make my labor much more manageable, especially in the last few hours. My pregnancy and labor were the hardest things I’ve ever done, and i’m proud of myself for getting through it.
Today is the first day that we’ve been back home, and it’s an exciting but exhausting transition. I ask that visitors limit the length of their stay. Many people don’t understand how incredibly exhausted and busy I am, which needs to be considered. I’m still trying to get used to my new life! 🙂
