Parenting & School

I’m so excited to finally share Audrey’s 3 month pictures with you all! It’s been an incredibly stressful week and I was unable to post an update when I was hoping to, but I’ve finally found the time! School started Tuesday, and I’m trying to get used to being away from Audrey everyday. I’m grateful to only be taking two classes at school so I only leave her for about three hours a day, but it’s a lot to get used to! I honestly thought it would be easier than it truly is, but coming home to a warm and sleepy baby makes me remember how lucky I am!

I’m extremely exhausted and stressed this week to the point where I’ve thought about supplementing Audrey with formula. We’ve all heard “breast is best,” but I’m not sure I have much of a choice. I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this, but my supply is decreasing every day and I’ve only been breastfeeding for three months. I’m not completely sure it’s caused by stress, but being a full-time student and full-time mommy has led me to believe it. Sometimes I forget that I’m even stressed to begin with until I randomly break down, and realize that I’m having a hard time handling my life situation. I’m trying to stay positive and hope that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.

In addition to the two classes I’m taking at school, I’m taking four online classes so that I can be home to take care of Audrey. My mom takes care of her while I’m at school. At first glance you would think that online classes are easy, but I personally feel that there is a lot more work involved. In school I’ve noticed that there’s a lot of down time where you just sit and wait for the bell, whereas I come home and work on my classes from 3:30 to 8:00. This year won’t be easy, but I’m hoping it will all be worth it in the end!

I’m working on fixing Audrey’s sleep schedule. Most days she takes 20 minute naps every couple of hours, and doesn’t actually sleep until around 2:30 in the morning. She sleeps for about 5 hours at a time now until around 1:00 in the afternoon.

Thanks for reading & I’ll try to update again on Sunday! 🙂

  1. You are to be commended on breastfeeding. You’ll have good days, and frustrating days. All of your feelings are completely natural and to be expected. You have to admit, when life seems overwhelming, one smile from your gorgeous baby girl makes it all better:) Don’t give up!
