Delicious Discoveries

I’ve mentioned before that Audrey’s mouth seemed to be bothering her, but it was mild and occasional. The last few days she has seemed to be in much more pain; drooling, gnawing on anything she can get her hands on, rejecting food, etc. She’s been pretty irritable. I’ve listed a few things I’ve given her for teething in a previous post, and included how they all seem to be working to an extent… (Key words – “To an extent”). One thing I find to be very helpful for soothing her sore mouth is her Nibbler. I know, right? Who would have guessed! Rather than putting fresh fruit inside, I freeze small amounts of food and put them inside. Although fresh fruit could work as well, I freeze the food so that it will numb her mouth. It works very well, in part because the food is a distraction. The Nibbler is great for introducing foods, but it is also very effective to use for teething. Teething is no fun, and I’ve mistaken Audrey to be teething plenty of times. If you’re unsure of the symptoms or need a refresher, I’ve put together a list of signs.

Signs of Teething:

  • Visible tooth below gums
  • Excessive drooling
  • Swollen gums
  • Tries to bite/chew on anything and EVERYTHING
  • Rubbing/grabbing face/ears
  • Trouble falling asleep
  • Rejecting food
  • Irritability
  • Fever and/or diarrhea

If you know for sure your baby is teething or you just want to be prepared, I suggest purchasing a Nibbler if your having a hard time finding something that works.

Thanks for reading! ❤
